AfriCarryApp is a community-powered marketplace that connects Liberians traveling by air with senders who need to ship packages to Liberia affordably. Travelers post their travel dates and offer to carry packages for a fee. Senders browse available travelers and book a shipment — typically saving 60–70% compared to DHL or FedEx.
Traditional couriers charge $15–25 per kg to ship to Liberia. AfriCarryApp uses travelers who already have luggage space to carry packages for $8–15 per kg — significantly cheaper. The key differences:
  • Price: Up to 70% cheaper than DHL
  • Speed: Door-to-door in 5–14 days vs 10–21 days
  • Trust: Community ratings and reviews on every traveler
  • Protection: Escrow payments — your money held until delivery confirmed
AfriCarryApp currently serves Liberia — specifically Monrovia via Roberts International Airport (ROB) and Spriggs Payne Airport (MLW). We are actively planning expansion to Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, and Sierra Leone. Stay tuned!
Yes — completely free to sign up and browse. AfriCarryApp only charges a 10% platform commission when a shipment is booked and paid. There are no monthly fees, no listing fees, and no charges just to use the platform.
📦 For Senders
It is simple:
  • 1. Browse available travelers heading to Liberia
  • 2. Check their ratings, reviews, travel date, and fee per kg
  • 3. Click "Book & Pay Securely" on their listing
  • 4. Enter your package details and pay via Stripe (card or Apple/Google Pay)
  • 5. Arrange to hand over your package before the travel date
  • 6. Confirm delivery when your recipient receives it — payment releases to the traveler
Allowed items include:
  • Documents, letters, and envelopes
  • Clothing, shoes, and personal effects
  • Over-the-counter medications (sealed, original packaging)
  • Vitamins and supplements
  • Non-perishable food items (sealed commercial packaging)
  • Electronics for personal use
Prohibited: Prescription medications belonging to another person, controlled substances, firearms, counterfeit goods, live animals, currency exceeding $10,000 USD, or any item prohibited by US or Liberian customs law. See our full Terms of Use.
The Entire Extra Bag option is a flat fee of $175. The traveler dedicates their full extra checked bag — up to 23kg — exclusively to your shipment. This is ideal if you have a lot to send and want to fill an entire bag without calculating per-kg costs. Your payment is still held in escrow until delivery is confirmed.
Once your booking is confirmed and payment is held in escrow, the traveler's contact details become visible to you. You arrange directly with the traveler to hand over the package — typically at a convenient meeting point before their departure date. Always get a receipt or confirmation from the traveler when handing over.
Every traveler listing has a "vs DHL rates ↗" link that opens the DHL rate calculator. Enter the same origin, destination, weight, and dimensions to get a DHL quote. You can then compare directly — AfriCarryApp is typically 60–70% cheaper for packages to Liberia.

  • 1. Go to "Post Your Trip" on the app
  • 2. Enter your departure city, travel date, fee per kg, and max weight you can carry
  • 3. Agree to the Terms of Use and Prohibited Items Policy
  • 4. Click "Post Trip" — your listing goes live immediately
  • 5. Set up your Stripe payout account to receive payments
  • 6. Senders will find you, book, and pay — you carry, deliver, and get paid
It depends on how much cargo space you offer and your rate per kg. A typical example:
Brussels Airlines (2 free bags = 46kg total)
Offering 25kg at $12/kg = $300 gross
After AfriCarryApp 10% commission + Stripe fee = ~$248 net
That is extra income just from your existing luggage allowance.
Many travelers earn $150–$375 per trip depending on their airline, how much space they offer, and their rate.
Yes — carrying packages for others is legal as long as the contents comply with customs laws. You are legally responsible for declaring all items you carry at customs. You must never carry prohibited items including another person's prescription medication, controlled substances, weapons, or cash exceeding $10,000. Always know what is in the packages you carry. If in doubt, do not carry it.
Common routes include:
  • Brussels Airlines — via Brussels (BRU) — includes 2 free bags (46kg)
  • Delta Air Lines — via connecting city — includes 2 free bags on Africa routes
  • United Airlines — via connecting city — bag policy varies by fare
  • Air Maroc — via Casablanca
  • Kenya Airways — via Nairobi
💡 Tip: Brussels Airlines offers the best earning potential — 2 free bags (46kg total) included on all US–Africa routes. Zero extra bag cost = maximum profit.
Click "Set Up Payouts" on your traveler listing. This opens Stripe's onboarding flow where you securely enter your bank account details. Stripe verifies your identity (government ID required) and links your bank. Once approved, you will see a "Payouts Enabled ✓" badge on your profile. Payouts are sent to your bank account within 2–7 business days after delivery confirmation.
💳 Payments & Escrow
Escrow protects both senders and travelers:
  • Sender pays → money is held securely by AfriCarryApp
  • Traveler carries the package and delivers it in Liberia
  • Sender confirms delivery → AfriCarryApp releases 90% to the traveler
  • If no confirmation is received within 7 days of the travel date, funds are released automatically
This means the traveler only gets paid after successful delivery, and the sender's money is protected throughout.
AfriCarryApp accepts all major payment methods through Stripe:
  • Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay
  • Debit cards
All payments are encrypted and processed securely. AfriCarryApp never stores your card details.
AfriCarryApp charges a 10% platform commission on every shipment. This is automatically deducted from the total payment before the traveler receives their payout.
Example: Sender pays $120 for a 10kg shipment at $12/kg.
AfriCarryApp keeps: $12 (10%)
Stripe processing fee: ~$3.78
Traveler receives: ~$104.22
The traveler receives their payout via Stripe within 2–7 business days after one of the following:
  • The sender clicks "Confirm Delivery" in the app
  • 7 days after the travel date passes with no dispute raised
Payouts go directly to the traveler's linked bank account.
Yes — in the following circumstances:
  • Traveler cancels their trip before departure — full refund issued automatically
  • Package not delivered — raise a dispute within 48 hours of expected delivery. Our team will investigate and issue a refund if the claim is valid.
  • Package damaged — raise a dispute with photos for evidence. Partial or full refund depending on outcome.
Refunds are processed back to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.
🔒 Safety & Legal
Yes. AfriCarryApp has multiple layers of protection:
  • Escrow payments — your money is never released until delivery is confirmed
  • Community reviews — read what other senders say before booking a traveler
  • Verified travelers — Stripe identity verification required for all payout accounts
  • Digital contracts — both parties agree to binding terms at the time of booking
  • Dispute resolution — our team reviews disputes within 48 hours
No. Carrying another person's prescription medication is potentially illegal and is strictly prohibited on AfriCarryApp. It can be classified as drug trafficking under US and Liberian law regardless of intent. Travelers may only carry their own prescription medication in the original labeled bottle for personal use. Violating this policy will result in immediate account suspension.
Senders are legally responsible for declaring the correct value and contents of all items. Travelers must declare all items carried on behalf of others at customs. AfriCarryApp is not responsible for items seized, fined, or confiscated by customs authorities. Always ensure your package complies with US and Liberian customs regulations before shipping.
AfriCarryApp takes data security seriously:
  • All payments processed through Stripe — PCI-DSS compliant
  • Database protected by Supabase Row Level Security — users only see data they are authorized to access
  • Contact information only revealed to the other party after payment is confirmed
  • We never sell your personal data to third parties
📍 Delivery
Delivery time depends on when you find a traveler heading to Liberia. Once a traveler is booked:
  • Hand-off: Before the traveler's departure date
  • In-flight: Direct or connecting flights — typically 10–20 hours
  • Local delivery in Liberia: 1–3 days after arrival depending on recipient location
Total time: typically 5–14 days from booking to delivery — faster than most traditional couriers.
Once your recipient confirms they have received the package, go to the footer of the app and click "✅ Confirm Delivery". Enter your email and booking ID. Click "Yes, Delivered" — this releases the traveler's payment immediately. You have 48 hours after expected delivery to raise a dispute if needed.
If a traveler cancels their trip before departure, your payment is fully refunded automatically. You will receive an email notification and the refund will appear on your original payment method within 5–10 business days. You can then search for another available traveler on the platform.
Yes. If items are not collected on the day the traveler arrives in Liberia, the following daily storage fees apply:
  • $10 USD per day for full luggage
  • $5 USD per day for letters and packages
These fees are charged to the sender and deducted from the escrow balance before the traveler receives their payout.
Example: Traveler arrives Monday. Recipient collects Wednesday (2 days late).
— 1 package uncollected: 2 × $5 = $10 storage fee
— 1 full luggage uncollected: 2 × $10 = $20 storage fee

Tip: Notify your recipient of the exact arrival date as soon as the traveler posts their trip. AfriCarryApp reserves the right to arrange return or disposal of items uncollected after 7 days.
If your package was not delivered, arrived damaged, or something else went wrong:
  • Click "✅ Confirm Delivery" in the footer
  • Enter your email and booking ID
  • Click "⚠ Raise Dispute" instead of confirming
  • Select the reason and describe what happened
  • Our team will review within 48 hours and contact both parties
You must raise a dispute within 48 hours of the expected delivery date.
